I’m Peter Angelini, founder of this new and exciting organization. We offer mediation services for various disputes, including general civil, employment, matrimonial, and family matters. After over 30 years as a lawyer, law clerk, and jurist working in the New York State court system, I have pretty much seen it all. Mediation is different. It is a confidential and guided approach to reach resolution through a facilitated conversation with a trained mediator. It is generally completed in one day (although it can go longer if the parties wish), and all sides are heard and actively take part in reaching resolution. And at the end, if successful, the parties avoid a costly and often lengthy trial and enter into their own agreement to settle the dispute. It is their agreement, and they take ownership of it. The mediator does NOT decide the case, the parties do themselves. Statistically, 83% of cases that go to mediation reach agreement in whole or part, and the results are longer lasting.
